Peter Best BVSc, DipVetAna, FACVSc. Peter graduated in veterinary science in 1976, completed a Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia at the University of Sydney in 1977 and the Fellowship of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 1982. Peter is a registered specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesiology and is held in high regard by the veterinary profession for his surgical ability. Peter's clinical skill was acknowledged by the Australian Veterinary Association by his appointment as "Small Animal Practitioner of the Year" in 1991. An avid reader of the scientific journal "Nature", Peter's brain has continued to expand to the point where it has displaced most of the hair from the front of his head! |

Martin Pearson. BVSc, PhD, DVA, Dipl.ECVA, MRCA Martin graduated in veterinary science from the University of Queensland in 1980. After a short period in mixed practice, he traveled to the UK where he undertook part-time postgraduate studies in veterinary anaesthesia at the University of Bristol and worked in small animal and mixed veterinary practice. Between 1983 and 1988 Martin was engaged full time in research and specialist training in veterinary anaesthesia at the University of Bristol, which lead to the award of a PhD and the Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He was appointed to a lectureship in veterinary anaesthesia at the University of Sydney in 1988 where he was head of the Section of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. Late in 1996 Martin resigned from the University as a senior lecturer and headed for the country to join Peter Best as a partner |

in South Tamworth Animal Hospital. Martin is a registered specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesiology, a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesiologists and is an adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland. He is a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and is honorary consultant veterinary anaesthetist at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, NSW. |
